I have always been a massive fan of the guitar as my father was a fine guitarist, plus I have always been into rock and blues music. However I didn't have the desire to start playing the guitar till the age of 19. Also with music not being my main avenue at the time as I was studying Business Management at university with no music scene.
Despite my father being a great player I never had any lessons or instruction with dad being busy and me being away from home. With little belief in my ability I was too imposed to take it more seriously and didn't play for many months even years at times. Around the age of 30 I started to attend blues jams in London on the guitar and began to feel more comfortable playing live, having previously only occasionally played Live at jams back in Wiltshire. In early 2022 Dom was asked at a jam to play guitar to celebrate the music for a recently deceased legend of the blues scene Jimmy C Coloetis by his widow Aga. This involved a show at the Broadstairs Blues Festival playing a collection of Jimmy's originals and blues standards. Since then in the past 12 months Dom has has honed his skills on the guitar to a higher level, and has created a clear, rich powerful and silky sound using his dads rare Ibanez "Bob Weir" Artist Vintage 1976 Guitar! Taking inspiration from old blues legends such as The Three Kings, Rory Gallagher and Jeff Beck and modern masters such as Eric Gales. Plus a whole host of rock and blues bands including his dads old band "Grandma Moses". |
